NEWS RELEASE

Easthill Physiotherapy to Open Second Location and High-Performance Skatemill in Sterling Center

Vernon, B.C., November 15, 2017 – Easthill Physiotherapy and Acupuncture is expanding. The familiar physiotherapy clinic is opening a second location on the 4th floor of the Sterling Centre in early November and will continue to offer cutting-edge manual therapy and acupuncture services to clients throughout Vernon and North Okanagan.

In addition, Easthill is partnering with the owners of Vernon Court Reporters, Stacey and Brad Donison, to offer Vernon’s first skatemill. Skatemills provide the latest technology in sports fitness and are used for a variety of training purposes, including the enhancement of hockey players’ skating technique and skill development, injury rehabilitation and cardiovascular conditioning.

“Opening our second location in the new Sterling Centre will enable us to provide our clients in the region with increased access to our manual therapy and acupuncture services,” said Judy Fullerton, clinic owner and physiotherapist. “By expanding into this convenient in-house location we can help even more clients return to healthy and active lifestyles as quickly as possible.”

The new location features private treatment rooms, a full gym for active rehabilitation and the same high-quality services and treatment that clients have come to expect over the past 14 years. The clinic is known for its hands-on, evidence-based approach to treatment, skilled practitioners and state-of-the-art treatment facilities.

“We are also excited to introduce Vernon’s first skatemill, which will provide a more convenient location for the city’s active hockey community to train and enhance performance,” said Donison, a long-time and active supporter of the Vernon Vipers, and a billet coordinator for the team. “Currently the nearest skatemill is in Kelowna so there is a real need to have training facilities closer to home.”

The skatemill is similar to a runner’s treadmill but wider and longer with a specially designed surface that allows players to practice skating techniques on a surface that resembles ice. Like treadmills, skatemills have variable speeds and inclines to add to the difficulty level. Skatemills are commonly used in training facilities for NHL teams and are quickly becoming more common in hockey arenas and fitness centers.

Easthill’s new clinic will open on Monday, November 20th, and the skatemill will open early in the New Year.

COVID-19 SAFETY

Easthill Physiotherapy + Acupuncture Clinic has protocols to ensure the utmost safety for our patients, team and community. We have worked hard to protect our public health during this pandemic. Medical masks are mandatory for all staff and patients to keep everyone safe, and we appreciate your commitment.

We continue to follow the guidelines and protective measures indicated by our regulatory boards and governments. Our team has also had extensive training on our new protocols, and we are all 100% committed to ensuring our patients’ safety.

This is the new normal.

All patients and staff will be screened before each visit. Unfortunately, anyone showing signs of respiratory infection will be unable to come into the clinic. We will encourage and book virtual physiotherapy appointments for those that need help but are symptomatic if a client is at greater risk or for anyone who is not comfortable coming into the clinic.

We have the highest standards for hand hygiene and cleaning. All equipment and rooms will be disinfected after each use, frequently touched surfaces will be sterilized, and personal protective equipment will be used in all appropriate situations. Patients and staff will have hand washing stations to ensure proper frequent hand hygiene.

We also understand that it is necessary to reduce the risk of transmission with physical distancing. To do this, we have installed plexiglass barriers, reduced the number of appointments available by spreading them out and designed an optimal patient flow that minimizes contact with other patients and staff before and after appointments. Our team is also committed to practicing these as measures of hand hygiene and physical distancing outside the clinic to be safe when they return to work.

Although it may seem different with the steps we need to take, the Easthill Physiotherapy + Acupuncture team is still the same! We still believe in the same values and are here to provide an extraordinary physiotherapy experience. This is not going to change. Our goal is to keep all of us healthy and happy.

Our fabulous admin team is available to book in-clinic appointments now. Or if you prefer a virtual physiotherapy visit, we can book that too. Please call us at 250-545-2922 to book an appointment or if you would like more information.
