Why is it important to stick to your treatment plan prescribed by your Physiotherapist?
Exercise is a vital portion of the treatment and management of a wide variety of acute and chronic health conditions. We know that sometimes the exercises/stretches may feel tedious and time-consuming however, these exercises are carefully thought through by your therapist and are tailored to the progression of your injury.
Your therapist will show you your exercises in the room during your appointment. They will assist you to ensure you are doing them correctly and engaging the main and assisting muscles. Doing this is imperative to your understanding of and adherence to your home exercise program. These exercises are guaranteed to tackle such issues as muscle imbalance, impingement, pain, instability, posture issues and muscle weakness.
Being involved in your own healing is important; taking the time to stretch and do your exercises will help you heal better and faster. I mean you brush your teeth every day to aid in good oral hygiene so look at your exercises the same way – make time!
